Australia-New Zealand Region – information for WBFF web site

There are two national organizations as partners in the Australia-New Zealand Bonsai Federation (ANZBF). ANZBF is the Regional body of WBFF and exists solely to provide Regional support to WBFF; to disseminate WBFF information; and to act as liaison between the ANZBF membership and the WBFF Board of Directors. The WBFF Regional Director is Mr. Lindsay Bebb of Brisbane, Australia. Email address lindsay@bonsainursery.com.au

The Association of Australian Bonsai Clubs Ltd. (AABC) is the Australian national organization and has 55 member clubs. The association President is Mr. Lee Wilson of Sydney.

The New Zealand Bonsai Association (NZBA) is the New Zealand national organization and has 19 member clubs. The association President is Mr. Lindsay Muirhead of Auckland.

Both national associations are very pro-active and enjoy a very close relationship. Following are the national activities for the next 4 years:

September 2008 saw the establishment of The National Bonsai and Penjing Collection of Australia (NBPCA). This permanent collection is currently located in Commonwealth Park, Canberra and is scheduled to move to a permanent home within the new National Arboretum in 2013. The collection exhibits high quality bonsai of Australian artists and has a mixture of permanent and loan trees drawn from all parts of the country. A national committee of nine people from across the country manages the collection. The Curator of the collection is Mr. Grant Bowie.

澳大利亚盆景协会俱乐部在墨尔本于2012年3月举办第25届国家盆景研讨会，具体时间待定。

2013年
澳大利亚盆景协会在堪培拉于2013年3月举办第26届国家盆景研讨会，具体时间待定。

2008年9月看到了澳大利亚国家盆栽及盆景收藏馆的成立。这永久馆藏现设在堪培拉的联邦公园，，预计将在2013年移到一个新的国家植物园。收集馆展示了澳大利亚艺术家高品质的盆景并具有一个永久性的来自全国各地制定的混合物。由一个来自全国各地的9人组成一个国家机构来负责本馆。收集馆长是格兰特先生•鲍伊。
